About Spracklen Insurance Services

Doug Spracklen is the founder of Spracklen Insurance Services in 1994. Thanks to a recommendation by a good friend and fellow agent, Mr. Tony Taylor, Doug was provided with an opportunity at Preferred Risk Insurance to build what is now Spracklen Insurance Services, Inc. He was fortunate enough to gain experience in the business arena from 1988-1994 that was instrumental in helping develop the skills necessary to build a successful insurance agency. Doug was a successful sales and marketing manager for MCI Long Distance. He also excelled as a third-party liability accounts manager for a local hospital. Doug’s experience along with additional evening classes in sales, marketing and insurance from Drury University in Springfield, helped lay the groundwork for a solid foundation.

As the agency was launched, Doug was very fortunate to meet and begin dating Sherrie Fisher, who he then hired. Doug is so thankful to God for directing their paths together as coworkers in the agency. Doug and Sherrie fell in love and were married and have blessed to have two children, who are now amazing adult young men. Doug and Sherrie attend church in Springfield, MO where they are actively involved in ministering to others in the church and community.

Doug’s primary responsibilities in the agency are developing new personal lines business sales and service, actively managing agency contracts, and marketing.

Doug also is an Executive Account Manager with Lamb Insurance Services, Inc. , where he develops religious organizations and nonprofit insurance accounts for them.

Doug’s favorite things in life include: discipleship (his own and others), spending time with family, golfing, upland bird hunting, fishing and traveling.

In 2002, Roberta opened her own insurance agency, Options First Financial, where she worked from home while her children were small. In 2008, she sold her book of business to Spracklen Insurance and began part time employment with the agency.

Beginning June 2015, Roberta came on full time as our Personal Lines Specialist. She enjoys working with our clients to protect their home, auto, renters, motorcycle, boat, RVs, and personal umbrellas. She specializes in shopping rates with our various carriers to find the best rates and coverage for our clients’ needs. Her goal is to provide all clients with the best coverage to meet their needs at the most affordable rate.

Roberta has adult children and is now a grandma—a new role that she is immensely enjoying. She loves spending time with her family and friends, road trips, camping, swimming, floating, chasing sunsets for the perfect photo, and re-learning the drums. She has been a great asset to Spracklen Insurance over the years working part time, vacation relief, and now on a full-time basis.

In 2011, Sherrie McMullin came to work for Spracklen Insurance. Sherrie is a jack of all trades at the agency and works closely with Roberta on the personal lines insurance. She also helps Doug with the development of business accounts with Lamb Insurance. Sherrie excels in helping on church/non-profits, Excess & Surplus markets long haul trucking, auto dealers, high value properties, life and health insurance.

Outside of the office, Sherrie enjoys spending time with her grown children and their spouses, entertaining her beloved cat, attending church locally, cheering on the Chiefs and Cardinals, hiking, being on the water, going to concerts, and listening to local live bands.
